However, the prestigious “Caterer of the Year” competition, staged by the leading trade magazine “Cooking + Catering inside” (CCI) in Cologne's HARBOUR.CLUB, is much more than that. It is a powerful indication that the country's caterers know how to respond to the crises and challenges of our time. With unbridled commitment, innovative strength and a wealth of ideas!
A selection process managed by editor-in-chief Hans Jürgen Krone produced eleven catering companies, whose representatives were able to present themselves to the jury in person on the day of the final decision and the closing event.

The winners in the categories of new beginnings, culinary delights and appreciation were "Chinuki Kindermahlzeiten Manufaktur GmbH" from Meerbusch, "Keepers & Cooks GmbH" from Nuremberg (pop-up dinner in storytelling format) and "WildparkTaste made by Traube Tonbach" from Karlsruhe (Mini-Max - maximum success with a mini-job).
A special price was awarded to the event concept “ZERO WASTE - PURE PLEASURE”, which "lemonpie Eventcatering GmbH" from Bad Münstereifel “rolled out” in close cooperation with PAPSTAR Solutions GmbH.
The smart disposable tableware made from renewable raw materials from the parent company PAPSTAR can be completely recycled into a material cycle for the production of new cardboard products using a fiber-recovering treatment process in a specially designed bio-converter (colloquially known as a composting machine). Crockery return points and service staff ensure that the various material fractions of the disposable crockery (wood/cardboard, sugar cane, palm leaf, bamboo, etc.) can be collected separately.

“We definitely won the prize together with PAPSTAR,” concluded lemonpie Managing Director Johannes Molderings. The concept has recently been successfully implemented twice in Cologne alone, at Digital X and at Deutz AG's big company party.
